The wooden stables and barn were built in the 1970s to house the family ponies and various agricultural equipment, when The Stable House was converted from a derelict Victorian stable block into a family home.
2020 saw Covid-19 bring changes to all of us wherever we are in the world; I think we would all agree that this was and has been an extremely unusual year.
Along with many people, we at The Stable House had to close our doors to the public towards the end of March.
This gave us the time to think about what we could do during this time.
Our immediate answer was to put a lot of time and energy into the Victorian Kitchen Garden which has housed pigs but not much else for many a year. We rotavated over one of the old pig pens and planted a lot of potatoes; this then led on to much digging and planting and even more weeding over the Spring and Summer months and we are enjoying quite a variety of fruit and vegetables.
We also began to think what it would be like when we were able to re-open our doors. We realised that it would be hard for us to have guests to stay in the main part of The Stable House as this means walking through our own living spaces.
A few years ago we had been granted planning permission for our stable-yard but it had never quite been the right time to start the work.
We decided that now was the time - why now? you may ask with no income coming in; it just felt like the right time so we started talking to builders and miraculously we sold a warehouse in Corby at just the right moment to create some funding.
The Stable Studios are ready for guests!

’We dipped our toes into the unknown world of Airbnb, made our booking & treat it was. We loved our studio, over looking the fields complete with pony and sheep to watch over. We only stayed me night but could’ve easily stayed longer. The horsey touches & references are great, Aldaniti - a definite winner. If you love coffee, you must try the barista!! Great hosts with beautiful studios in a fantastic setting’ Karen
'WOW! Could not fault Eleanor's place, we loved it. Stunning location and view, everything you could need (including a great shower and very comfy bed) and some fantastic extra little touches we were not expecting. A truely lovely host & was a pleasure to stay - have already recommended to numerous friends and family and will return ourselves.' Liam

From the 1970s built wooden stables, we are creating three Stable Studios; two of which will are available to book as accommodation! We have named them after two racehorses who battled great adversity to become legends, Aldaniti and Sea Biscuit.
The third studio is privately rented by Thorn Performance Physiotherapy & Pilates. - Have a look on their website for more information about Pilates in The Stable Barn.
There is a separate third studio available, the Orchard Studio, which is alongside the Gate House overlooking the Orchard. Each studio has a double bedroom with ensuite shower room and a separate living space with well equipped kitchen facilities (oven, hob, fridge, microwave etc) and a sliding door out onto a private patio where you can sit to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside.
The Stable Studios are on the opposite side of the yard to the The Stable Barn.
The Stable Barn hosts our coffee club & it a versatile and adored events space!
